Frequently asked questions.

How do I book a portrait session?

Simply get in touch via the contact page to begin the process. We'll schedule a pre-session consultation to plan everything from wardrobe to styling. Sessions are limited and by appointment only.

What should I wear for my portrait?

During your planning consultation, we’ll go over wardrobe options that align with your personal style and the artistic tone of your session. But the examples from my website will give you some inspiration for what works. Draped luxury fabrics and vintage costumes work especially well for boudoir style photography sessions.

Do you photograph families or just individuals?

Lorén specialises in fine art portraiture of individuals, which enables her to fully explore character and personality. Feminine women and strong, honest rural people are her signature but if you have a family group please get in touch and discuss your ideas. If it still fits with her style she may be able to work with you to create a family image.

How long does the session take?

Most sessions last between 1–2 hours, depending on the type of portraits we’re creating. We allow time for outfit changes and breaks so the process feels relaxed and enjoyable. After the session you’ll sit with Lorén and choose your favourite RAW image, which Lorén will then work on in her own time to give it the final look that she is known for.

Can I purchase prints, framed artwork and digital files?

Once your chosen image is fully edited, you’ll be able to see it via her gallery and choose what size print you’d like. All fine art prints are supplied unframed, but Lorén is happy to give you advice and tips to achieve the best framing result, and advise you where to go for this in Hawke’s Bay. As a fine art photographer creating images designed to be printed, Lorén doesn’t supply her images digitally.
